Denver Union Station at Christmas

The first train to arive at Denver Union Station came in on June 21, 1870. Presidents and dignitaries to arrive here are President(s), Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Franlin Delano Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Also, President Harry Truman and Queen Marie of Romania.

In the glory days, the Denver Union Station, roughly from 1920's through the 1930's, many soidiers said their good-byes here. At it's height the station was seeing 80 trains a day. Plaster arches line the walls of the center room and have 2300 carved Columbine flowers in them. The Columbine is the State Flower of Colorado.
